Mom Schools

TJEd Moms' Club
Mission: Our purpose is to create a group setting where mothers can come together to discuss TJEd principles, gain new friendships, and learn from one another.
Description: This is a "Mom's Only" group where we can get together and discuss different topics, get to know one another a little better, and share ideas - without the kids. I know we love our kids to death, but sometimes it's a little easier to think when we have a break away from them.
First Meeting:
- When: Thurs. Aug. 21st. @ 7:00PM -8:15 PM.
- Where: At my house at 2858 E. Javelina Ave./ Mesa, AZ 85204 ( Lindsay and Baseline)
- Discussion: I would like to start off just introducing everyone, and getting a feel for what kinds of things we'd like to talk about. Also, I would like everyone to share what their typical "homeschool day" looks like.

Queen Creek Discovery Club
Mission: Our mission is to encourage the habits of creating, valuing and impacting through a colloquium experience by reading classic books, plays, and speeches for students in a Transition to Scholar Phase. We provide a peer group to facilitate these qualities while emphasizing the discovery of one's mission and progression to the Scholar Phase.
First Meeting: Our first meeting will be held on Thursday, September 11th from 1pm - 2:30pm. You may bring a snack item to share. I will provide something to drink and paper products. We will be deciding the selections to read for the year so please come with some ideas of what you would like to study this year. For the first meeting we will play a game to get to know each other better. For location and information contact Celeste Batchelor.

5 Pillar Classes

5 Pillar Class at Liberty Square
This fall, Mitch and Keelee McGhee will be mentoring a Five Pillar class in Liberty Square (Lindsay and Guadalupe). Our desire is to provide a place where dads feel comfortable pursuing their own education – a class that isn’t just moms – a place where moms and dads can study together!
They (which is open to anyone, not just couples) will meet Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Fall semester begins September 4th and ends December 11th. The cost is $50 per person ($75 per couple) per semester plus books (fees are due on the first night of class). Members should expect to spend 5-10 hours a week studying outside class.
If you have questions, the McGhees can be reached at kmcr154@cox.net or by phone at 480-539-2986.

5 Pillar Class at Power Ranch
Another option for 5 Pillar learning will be held at Power Ranch (Power and Pecos). If you are in the South Gilbert/Queen Creek areas and are interested in building upon your own education with other adult learners, you are welcome to become a part of this new Five Pillar group.
They will meet on Thursdays, from 7:00-9:00 pm. also beginning Sept. 4, 2008 and ending December 11th. Fall semester begins September 4th, and ends December 18th. The semester fee is $50.00 (used for: guest lecturers; gatherings with other Five Pillar groups in the SE valley and Phoenix areas; and an educational scholarship fund).
Please contact Karen Packer at kp.packer@gmail.com for questions, or to add your name to the Power Ranch member “interested” email list.
