AzLAF Board of Directors
President
Rachel Keppner (libermama@gmail.com)
Rachel Keppner is the wife of Russell and the mother of nine wonderful children from the age of fourteen down to 10 months. She was first introduced to TJEd in 2000, and has been implementing its principles in her own home since 2001. She and her husband run a leadership education website for TJEd families at www.tjed.org . The Keppners reside in Gilbert.

Vice President
Susan Johnson (robinsue2@cox.net)
Susan Johnson and her husband, Rob, live in the East Phoenix area. They both grew up in the valley and have six children and six grandchildren with more on the way. She was introduced to A Thomas Jefferson Education after her third child/daughter began distance studies with George Wythe College in 2000. She began homeschooling their three youngest children four years previous to this (1996), where with the addition of TJEd principles their homeschooling efforts escalated beyond anything she could have hoped for!
Membership Secretary/Treasurer
Toni Miranda (mirandafamily@cox.net)
Raised by Randy and Cindy Hailstone in Los Angeles and the Salt Lake valley who taught her to jump right in and get to work, she went to school at Utah State University and spent several years in the Orient. Shannon and Marty Sipe have lived in north Phoenix since 1996. Six daughters keep them running and learning. Thomas Jefferson Education has been a flexible vehicle for which home schooling has become inspiring and practical. Learning that little ones need more time to play and big ones need time to become immersed have been TJEd’s most inspiring principles.
Web Administrator
Russell Keppner (russell.keppner@gmail.com)
Russell Keppner is the husband of Rachel and the father of nine energetic children. He is the pioneer in his family, having introduced his wife to home school, alternative medicine, and other “radical” notions early in their marriage. Being the first in his family to read about and embrace the "TJEd", he does his best to support his wife and children in their educational endeavors. An artist and computer programmer since his youth, he felt called to create a website for TJEd families, and launched TJEd.org in 2004. He is presently employed as a contract computer programmer, but has many entrepreneurial projects in various stages of completion.

Cheri Beals is married to Mitchell, they have 8 children and 5 grandchildren with one new grandchild coming before the year is over. They live in Pima, a small farming and mining community in Southeastern Arizona. They have homeschooled for the last 23 years, but have only been using a Thomas Jefferson Education since 2004. So they are still growing and learning in the TJed principles. They are excited at the growth they have seen in their children by applying these principles in their home. Besides her children and grandchildren, Cheri enjoys sewing, quilting, camping, raising chickens and goats, and of course reading.
