About Us

AzLAF started as a group of mothers using the Thomas Jefferson Education (TJEd) model in their homeschooling efforts, who came together for a monthly homeschool Park Day. Soon we were finding we needed more for ourselves and our families. We began hosting Face to Face with Greatness seminars, adult book colloquia (discussions), and grew steadily until AzLAF was officially organized in December of 2005. Our purpose and vision is to aid the families of Arizona in their quest for Leadership Education using Classics within the Thomas Jefferson Education model. We believe the best place to learn and apply these principles is in the home. As our mission states, our goals are...

To foster and empower families who inspire greatness in others and preserve the American Founders' ideals of community, liberty, scholarship and self-reliance with a firm belief in Divine Providence.

We seek to accomplish these goals by creating opportunities for homeschooling families to learn and progress in the principles of leadership education while associating with other families with similar aspirations and ideals. We welcome families who want to learn more, as well as those who are implementing TJEd in their homes.
